This lesson plan is for Grade 5 Social Studies. Creating this lesson plan was really important to me because I never got to participate in Day of Sucwentecw as a student in elementary or high school. This would be my “dream” lesson plan. Including elder is very important and crucial. Incorporating pow wow dance, rattle making, and lehal (stick games) is a celebration of Secwepemc culture!
There are aspects that could be spread across an entire week, but I believe if it was planned in advance, the entire lesson plan could take place in 1 day as proposed in the lesson download below.
