I am proud of myself for achieving these Academic Rewards. Being an Indigenous Woman who has to constantly abide to Western Ideologies and ways of being to prove my acquired knowledge to be true is difficult and can be discouraging. I have successfully “Walked in Two Worlds” (Indigenous/Western Ways of Knowing and Being). Achieving these awards can encourage others that anything is possible.
