In 2021, I was offered the job as a “Language Assistant” various times. I decided that although I am self-employed, Secwepemc language is important to me. More so, the time spent with our elders, knowledge keepers, and speakers. I wanted to listen to them converse with one another. I knew that taking this opportunity would be good for me in my Secwepemctsín language journey. I was able to connect with many individuals throughout Tk’emlups te Secwepemc. I heard their stories and suggestions for a better future for our generations to come. It was an honor to be apart of the team even for a short time (Contract work).
